Why I Like Living in California

Before I came here, I never saw the ocean.  Now I can go to the beach and enjoy the wonderful breeze from the ocean.  Also, California is one of the beautiful places in the USA . Next, the weather in this area is perfect, and it is always warm and green outside.  Besides, is so great that people should not smoke in public places in California, but in other  countries people can smoke everywhere.  American are very polite and friendly.  When I go to other places, after a while I began to miss what I have in California.

The Suggestion which Make ESL class More Exciting!!

Hi, my name is Arata: )
I'd like to suggest an idea which makes more my class, ESL102, exciting.
I think we need to change our class room. As you know, our class room's chairs are kind of separated with each other because of computer lab. I mean, there are much distance between every classmates, so it's very hard to comminicate with each other. Even now, I have a lot of students I've never talked to. If we can change our class, we can do group projects with more comfortable distance, such as sharing our ideas with students who are sitting aroung us, making new friend networks with someone we have never talked before, and seeing the face each other a lot. That's why I suggest it's good plan to change a class room. Let's make our ESL 102 every classmates will never forget: D

Cultural differences

We should find topic that is some how related to the all people in the class. I think the only thing we have in common is that majority of people in the class are from another cultures. As a result, i came up with thought that we should wrote about differences from our cultures. First, that would be convenient for all because my classmates and I do not have to do research. Next, it would be fun and people would read it because it is interesting. Also, we would learn a lot about each other thought cultural differences.

Leaving homework until the last minute

I think we should write about what happens when you live homework to the last minute. What do you think are the consequences or the benefits.

I think it would be a good idea to write about our experiences as students. Many of us have good and bad experiences, and we learn from our past failures. For example, if we didn't have the grade we wanted or everything just wasn't okay . The question is , (What is something you gained from an unsuccessful experience? )

Life is always Rough, I Need to be Tough

At the beginning of new semester, students usually excite to study. They excite to get great scores on the tests, or they excite to finish all of the homework assignments, etc, and when they got good grades and have done all of the homework assignments, they feel so wonderful. Sometimes, they couldn't finish all of the assignments, and then got bad grades on tests, the feeling of fear, sadness and disappointment suddenly came to them. I was one of them. However, I encourage myself do not give up, but keep trying to do the best I can do. Life is always rough, so I need to be tough.

Title : Dream

Each one of us probably have a dream for the future.
I think it will be a good idea if we can share our dreams each other.
Some people still want to become a someone who they dreamed about when they were in childhood, and some people's dreams might have been changed while they were growing up.
Also, we can talk about what we have done and will have done for our dreams.

Our beliefs and traditions

Im think that will be a good topic to know everyone's traditions, so we can meet us deepdly. Im think will be interesting traditions from everywhere; eventhough, the majority we are from the same country but each state has different traditions. :}

attitude vs bahavior

i suggest that we talk about attitude vs behavior.We all came from a different cultures.Therefore, we all believe in a variety of values according to our cultural background.Attitude is in what we value as a society but sometimes our cultural background prevent us to behave in a way that society expect us to do so.As a result, we all behave differently due to our cultural values.For example, to some people they do not value education, they prefer to get a job instead of going to school.However, some others believe that education is essencial for their future.

Culture- The Interesting Thing for Me

One of the interseting things when living in America is I can contact with diverse cultures in the world. People who live here come from different countries such as Korea, Iraq, Japan, Vietnam, Russia, ...
As first, I am very amazed by the way people greet, the clothes they wear are very different from my culture. For example, in America the greeting that is typical is people simply say "Hello! or Hi!" It sound friendly and easy for everyone. I like and try to do that, but I still have my old habit Which is "nodding" for greeting. In addition, the way to dress here is very free. People often wear clothes that they like and feel good for going to work or to school. Another thing in eating, the people here use forks and knives while Asian usually use the "chopsticks" that is very interesting for me. Otherwise, I am not familiar with the way the Americans greet when they meet. They usaully give each other a big hug to show the friendliness. However, I am surprised at someone who wears "white head band" to go to school or play the sports. It means nothing, but in Vietnam that is bad symbol: be in mourning for someone died in the family. In general, there are some symbols and gesture have the same meaning. For example, nodding their head means agee, waving their hands means good-bye. I like to live or work with different people in the world in order to understand their culture and get closer to them.

In my opinion I say we should write about our long term goals. This long term goals could be about our plans for our future education. On how we plan to achieve or get to were we want to be in life. For instance our  career, job, sport or even better our dream home. All those wonderful things  that we want to be part of  our future.

my suggestion

I think we should write about "hobby" on our blog. The reason why I think so is we can talk about what we like very easily, and we wouldn't feel tired or bored even if we write about same topic again and again. Also, if we find the classmates who like to do same things with us, we could get closer friends. Moreover, we can share our knowledge with others, and that would give them a chance to know something new for them. Therefore, hobby is better topic to write on our blog.

• Challenge because it is important to challenge yourself, to see in which other things are you good at.
• Confidence because it is important to demonstrate security, in order to gain the trust from others.
• Decision Making because our life it is going to be the result from the decisions we made in the past.
• Negotiation because it is important to find the way to benefit yourself, rather than others benefit from you.
• Set Realistic Goals it is very important because you know yourself very well, and you know what are the things that you like or not. For example, if you choose a major in which you know it is something that you are not good at. As a result, you are not going to like your job. In contrast, if you choose a major that you like, and you enjoy doing the tasks that the major requires then you are going to be happier.
• Team Work it is very important to learn how to interact with other people. This is because later on, when you get a job you will have to learn how to get along with your co-workers.
• Stress it is important to not stree out! This is because well paid jobs will ask you to be multitask, and for that you will have to be able to remain calm. In order, to not make bad desicions.

I would suggest our class to write the blog about different culture and tradition of each classmate. The reason that I chose this topic is because there are students from different countries all over the world such as Japan, Vietnam, Mexico, Thailand, China, etc. Writing the blog about different cultures of each person in class will give everyone an opportunity to learn different cultures in the world. Also, writing about culture topic can improve the relationship between our classmates. We will get to learn our classmates more than before !!!
