Oaxaca, Mexico

The state of Oaxaca is bordered to the north by the states of Puebla and Veracruz, to the east by Chiapas, to the west by Guerrero, and to the south by the Pacific Ocean. Oaxaca is considered one of the richest states in Mexico, for his culture and history. The guelaguetza party is celebrated in july 16. The guelaguetza is about traditional dance from all the 16 ethnics of Oaxaca. The term of Guelaguetza, derives from the Zapotec term "guendalezaa", which means ‘’offering, present’’ because during colonial times, the wealthy Spanish elite had the legal right to receive the first and best of the harvest collected by the indigenous people working their lands. This first right to the crops was called the "Guelaguetza."
