Mexico's Religion

It is said that Mexico has no official religion, and for the most part churches are on there own. Choosing a religion is an option you get, once you are older to decide. At least it is in Durango, the city I grew up, and with my family. Growing up my two best friends were Christians, my cousin is Jehovah's Witnesses and I’m catholic. Being from different religions, living so close and sharing many things never changed our friendship or points of view we each had. Mexico has Jews, Christians, Synagogues, Tibetan Buddhists, Muslims, Catholics and many others. They all can find a place to worship in the city. Even though religion is an option we see and think Mexico’s religion is Roman Catholicism. 3/4 of Mexico's population are Catholics’. Most of these churches are the most impressive architectural buildings Mexico has.

This is the Catedral of Durango Dgo

We as Mexicans are overwhelming Catholic, our devotion is unlimited. Our religion takes part of our every day life. You would see our image of the Virgin of Guadalupe as often as you would see the Pepsi logo.
