QUINCEAÑERAS


The quinceañera is a passage to the womanhood. In which the fifteen year old girl celebrate with her family and community members that she is now a young woman. The origins of the Quinceañera come from the Aztecs. At the age of fifteen was when many young Aztec woman left their homes, in order to become wifes and then mothers. Usually, after a girl turns fifteen yers old in Mexico, many people begin to see her and treat her differently. Due to the fact that she is not a child anymore, now she has become into a young woman. This celebration has become very popular in the United States, because there exist many hispanic communities that celebrate their fifteen year old daugther´s birthday.
